| PROPELLER The propellers, which are of controllable pitch type, are 3 or 4-bladed. The actuation of pitch with push-pull rod from full ahead to full astern. The propeller blades are designed to suit the particular vessel. Blades and hub are made of NiAl bronze. CPP FOR WORK AND FISHING BOATS Helseth's 3 and 4-blade controllable pitch propeller systems combine a reduction gearbox with built-in hydraulic servo unit or shaft-line servo motor. CPP FOR HIGH SPEED VESSELS Helseth designs its propellers using state-of-the-art computer analysis for maximum efficiency on vessels with speeds up to 35 knots. Propellers are available for the 300-3000 kW range. BOW AND STERN THRUSTERS Helseth's thrusters are fixed-pitch with either hydraulic or electric drive. Power range is 90-230 kW. STERNTUBE Stern tube is normally water lubricated, but oil lubricated sterntubes are available on request. Sterntube length, type of cutless bearings and tube material to suit each patricular vessel. |

SHAFTING The propeller hub has an oil shrink connection to the conical aft end of the shaft. The shaft is hollow bored and supplied with a control rod which connects the propeller mechanism to an inboard servomotor within the reduction gear output shaft. The shft is made from stainless steel EN1.4418. Tail shaft and pssible intermediate shafts are made in lengths to suit the vessel. SHAFT BRACKET The shaft brackets are made with NACA-profile and single leg to give correct water flow to the propeller. The brackets are cast from stainless steel or NiAl bronze. |
